How to Make a Didgeridoo

Next Week is NAIDOC Week when we celebrate the culture and contributions that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people bring to our community. Today we learnt how to make a didgeridoo. Cacey and Lexi wrote a procedure to help you.

You need:

a tree trunk

sugarbag

paint

Steps:

  1. Cut down the tree trunk.
  2. Strip off the bark.
  3. Put on the sugarbag ( a wax made by stingless bees).
  4. Paint the didgeridoo.

Below is the clip that we watched.

Maps

Here are our finished maps. We had to work together and share our ideas. Our next task is to design a new playground for our school. I wonder what our principal Mr Haynes will think of our ideas?

Geography

Now that we have visited two different places, the Road Safety Centre and Bonython Park, we are making a map of one of these places. We need to include all the features that we saw. Here are our maps in progress. We’ll let you see the finished ones soon.

Bonython Park

After we visited the Road Safety Centre we went to Bonython Park. There were so many different pieces of equipment to play on. The water course was great fun too. We even saw some police horses along the way.

Road Safety Centre

Last week we went to the Road Safety Centre. We learnt how to ride our bikes safely and how to be safe pedestrians. We had loads of fun!
